Invitations and Coupons

Wedding invitations can get pricey, but my thrifty couple came up with a great money saving idea. Nicole made her invites by using a blank template from BRIDES, and a kit that she bought from Michaels.  Each kit included 30 cards, 30 envelopes, 30 response envelopes, 30 RSVPs, labels and flags.  Each kit was $39.99, and she found a coupon on-line for  40% off.  With the coupon the kit was about $25.00 each, which means she spent about 25 cents per card. She did spend a lot of time picking out the font she wanted and assembling the cards, but the price was worth the time.

If you are having trouble finding the time to make your own invitations, I encourage you to host a small party with your girlfriends and make them while drinking wine and listening to music. As I am sure you know already, women can get a lot done while drinking wine and talking.

If you are interested in making your own invitations I found some great websites that offer coupons and discounts.

Rustic Wedding 101

A lot of Brides are in for a big surprise when they find out how much their dream wedding will cost. Did you know the average wedding costs around $20,000? So what if you have a budget of $4,000 and have a guest list of 150 people? No worries, I can show you  how I am helping my clients have their dream wedding while staying on budget. Each week I will share some information on the planning process of this rustic wedding.
Today I wanted to tell you a little about my clients, Shawn and Nicole, and their wedding venue. Shawn and Nicole have been dating for about four years before Shawn popped the question. On the first night of a 30 day river trip, Shawn  dropped to one knee during sunset in front of a toasty fire and asked Miss Nicole for her hand in marriage. After screaming YES, the couple smoked cigars  and had cocktails with their river friends to celebrate their engagement.

This adventurous and fun-loving couple wanted a venue that represented their creative and wild side so they decided to have the wedding at Solace Ranch. Solace Ranch  is nestled in the mountains outside of Wells, Nevada.  Shawn's parents built the ranch out of reused and recycled materials. This unique space is a masterpiece and holds a special place in Shawn and Nicole's heart. To see what their wedding venue looks like please check out Solace Ranch at:

Stay tuned for next week to see more on the venue and décor items.
